My Project: Chicken Cheese Pizza

Pizza is an oven-baked, flat, disc-shaped bread typically topped with a tomato sauce, cheese and various toppings. Originating in Italy, from the Neapolitan cuisine, the dish has become popular in many parts of the world. An establishment that makes and sells pizzas is called a "pizzeria". Pizza is one of the national foods of Italy and the Italian people.

I have made this delicious pizza lots of time before. My mom used to make it for me since my childhood. I just loved the way she make it. So I have learned the technique about how to make good pizza and finally I learned it.

I have seen lots of recipe in the book but I always follow my mom recipe which make my dish litle bit tastier than regular pizza. I beleived the secret recipe is my mom's love.

Main Ingredients:

• Boneless chicken breast
• 1 (10 ounce) refrigerated pizza crust
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup chopped tomatoes
• 1/4 cup chopped green onions
• Flour & yeast
• Tomato Sauce (can)
• Capsicum, onion & Jalapeno

The Shopping:

Here I am on 111th street, liberty avenue, shopping for the one of the heart ingredients(chicken) that is available at. The reason I chose this store because here I can find Halal meat.

After buying chicken, I went to the met food for buying other ingredients.

• Jalapeno Pepper 0.44lb $0.66
• Craft Mozzarella (cheese) $4.79

The tomato and onion I already have at home. The whole meal, cost me $22.17 and it served 5 people. So it comes to almost $4.00 a slice of pizza (Soda included).


The Cooking:

As I explained  I made pizza before. So it is so simple to make and enjoyable.

                              I washed the chicken very well and sliced it into small pieces.

                         Then I sliced the Jalapeno in round shaped.

Then I sliced the Capsicum, tomato and onion as well shape as I could similar to the  previous way.

Then I cooked the sliced onion and tomato with chicken on heated oil. In this way, chicken taste so good.

Now the most important part. I made the pizza crust mixed with yeast and flour. After I made that I have to wait about 5 to 6 hour. That's how yeast make the crust so good . When its ready I put the crust in pizza pan.

Then I put All ingredients on pizza pan step by step. First I put tomato sauce, then chicken, Jalapeno, capsicum and shredded cheese.

Now my Pizza is ready to cook. I Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Lightly grease a pizza pan or medium baking sheet. Then I put my pizza into the oven and wait for about 30 min until cheese is melted and bubbly.

                       Finally my pizza is done so well and I am ready for eat!!

                         That pizza was really tasty...Look at me!!!

What I have Learned?

• First of all, I had felt making my own meal is so fun and enjoyable.
• I am really exieted to let others know that I can cook!
• The food I made, contains fat but eating this occasionally could be so enjoyable.
• Doing this project reminds me my mom's memory which gave me so much happiness.
• Making food for family can make good bond with family.
• Also now I know how to shop foods from the food market.(My brother always shop food items for me. I am so lucky!!)

               Final Class Reflection

Firstly, going back through my all blog entries I have found blog entry 1, 8 and 14 are considered as my best examples of critical thinking I have ever done. Also I believe, in those blog entry I was able to understand the truth of reality today. By the matter of fact, it reminds me that the creator of all the ads, tv shows, celebrity drama, etc. are totally thirsty for money. They benefited from it and most of all we drug into it by buying the products and giving them values by watching their television shows.

          Secondly, writing online is totally different from other writing experiences as I have had in the past. I am strongly like this process. According to this process, I have learned how to response to others and also I can see how other people feels about any topic related to class. Sometimes I was confuse and don’t know where to start writing. But in online writing I can pick idea from others by visiting others blog. To be honest for me it was so helpful. Also, writing in blog entries helped me to improve my writing ability. Because in my point of view, when I write about any topics I can really understand the real meaning of the topics. It was totally connect me into the topics. However, I feel that the online work was a shared experience. Also, I love to read other student’s online work even though it was assigned or not. This way I can discover how they think. Sometimes I get the impression that other members of the class or the network read my blog.

            In conclusion, if question asked about what lessons I will be taking away from this class, then from now on I will keep continue reading and writing about any topics I have found in the newspaper or anywhere and I am going to use the techniques that I had learned from this class. There is something I have and would like to discuss, that is, in the class I felt it might be better if we keep changing the group mate. In this process we can know everyone very well and working with different group mate, it will be more challenging for me. After spending lots of time with this class I felt that I am leaving this class with a basic understanding of writing strategies. Because from the very beginning of the class I have learned lots of writing strategies that is so unique and I believe, it cannot be learned better than this. My most memorable moment was when I saw the first movie Truman with the class and I am really enjoyed it. The experience that I had it cannot be expressed. I never thought how educational it can be if we watch movie in the class. I believe this is one of the best classes I ever had in my whole life. My recommendation(s) for all students who is planning to take this class next semester is, to experience the better taste of education all students must take this class.

Planned Obsolescence

According to the Stuff video, as we can see Annie Leonard shoes us how the economy really works by extraction, to production, to distribution, to consumption, to disposal.Truth is always awful doesn’t matter how it looks. However, I think all this wouldn't happened if it weren't for the destruction by people. By the belief of Leonard it is also mentioned that President Eisenhower's Council of Economic Advisor Chairman said that "The American economy's ultimate purpose is to produce more consumers’ goods." Also , Leonard says that the idea of consumption works by two plans which are "planned obsolesce" and "perceive obsolesce" .those can makes people think that they have to buy valueless stuff gradually and put their rights away such as healthcare, education and justice. This world is run by money. Question is why people want money? People  want money because they worry about food of everyday. Moreover, they are worry about fashion and to have luxuries that only money can gives, so people will feel happy.

First of all, consumption is not only about our needs, but also about fashion and luxurious life. Such as people not only want a pair of shoes, a jacket, a bag or a cell phone but also they want all these items from brands by thinking that they can be look better with them on it.Thats the way it works all for us. However we buy stuff just as a hobby but still have old stuff brought from last year even though it is new. I know some people whom change cell phone every time when  new  Phone comes out in the market and they don’t know what to do with their old ones. People buy a lot of stuff all the time without thinking how much expensive it is. The only matter is who can afford it, and who cannot.Moreover, we are not aware about where all these stuff comes from or where will go to.

Second of all, in the video Annie Leonard states that the rate of happiness went down since the 1950’s at the same time that the “planned obsolescence” started to be on. On the other hand some German philosophers argued that people confuse happiness with pleasure. Therefore, people are happy when they buying new stuff. However, in Christmas holidays everyone thinks about gift to share and buy People are so happy that they need to buy and get stuff in order to have nice memories with family. But when in reality what it makes them happy is to share time without conditions of money.

                In conclusion, I think we should concious about not only how to get stuff but the danger before and after. But we must make sure that what we get, it can be make us happy and unhappy to others.all those problem created by people. So we are the one who can change the world by creating something new.

Blog Entry 20 - Sleep Dealer

After watching the movie “Sleep Dealer” I think Memo is going into the city to fight for justice against government. The main purpose is to try and solve the current water crisis they are facing  from the government. On the other hand, Memo himself  feeling the guilt of his father’s death.  Also in the beginning of the movie Memo has wanted to see beyond the walls and hills; how its look like since he has lived all his life. He has always wanted to travel and see the real world from how it really feels like. He saw how his father been suffering from the water problem. His family is living on the threads of the government’s wish.

            Firstly,Memo lives the path of fight. His mind and his life stugling into the thread of sleep dealer factories. According to the movie, nodes represent as the best fad in society. To live a better and succesful life everybody must have nodes. Though working in the sleep dealer factories Memo can earn lots of money and send money to home which can help a little to his family from the water price crisis.

            Secondly, as we can see the life like this, is seems to fight against society and struggle for survival. Memo fights only because to survive in a society where he as never been lived with. He meets several kinds of people but at the same time some people causes harm or use him as a tool in the factories. I think memo also dealing with emotional fight. Since his father’s death Memo’s mind is converted out the world beyond his own eyes. He don’t know how to controle but he must learn how to control that tragedy and anger in order to do his best for his family whom are looking at him.

           

Finally, since the intro of the film Memo is telling us to join him in the fight. I believe If we are being treated unfairly by anyone like him we should stand up to and fight for justise.we must find a way on how to change them or correct them. Similarly we are controlled by government. So if our governmnet treat us some how unfair we must speak up. Like in now a days in the society many people are still trying their best to change the government’s point of view or major corporations. If we look into T.V we can see people are trying to talk against governments and but in the same time they might be losing their own life’s in doing so. The reason for this its only because so one day the people or children of the future can live a better life than they had. As we can see memo said in his last speech fight and we must follow his path in order to build a good nation for our better future.

                                  “The New Industrial Migrants”

Summarizing Part l:

      According to the article “The New Industrial Migrants” from Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, it is stated that people from Mexico since 1980s, Central America and Southeast Asia started to come to the america to the rural area of Colorado.However, here meatpacking jobs were offered. It is clear that slaughterhouse offers thousands of jobs, but they randomly have people quitting or being fired. In recent, 75 percent of people working at the plant in Greeley. They don’t speak English and most of them are Mexicans who live in the developing areas close to the slaughterhouse. Generally, slaughterhouse pays $9.25 per hour, a third lower than forty year ago. In addition, they only offer health insurance to workers by establishing condition like who have been working more than six months, and also vacation pay after a year. In 1980s, Arden Walker explained some of the “advantages” of the high turnover. He said, “insurance, as you know, is very costly. Insurance is not available to new employees until they’ve worked there for a period of a year or, in some cases, six months. Vacations don’t accrue until the second year. There are some economies, frankly, that result from hiring new employees.” Finally, Meatpacking turnover makes difficult to maintain the work force unionize but much easier to control.

Summarizing Part ll:

           In the article it is explained that, IBP company begins to recruit migrant labor and they are the  first companies who recognize that new immigrant would work for lower salaries. This company has recruited poor people in the country among them who are homeless from New York. Recently, IBP established a labor office in Mexico City, where it makes advertisements by radio media by offering jobs in the United States. They send all the recruited people by bus from rural areas in Mexico to the America. The Immigration and Naturalization Service [INS] estimates that there are 25 percent of the meatpacking workers in states like Iowa and Nebraska are not legal. But IBP disagreed that they are still hiring or looking for non-legal immigrants.However, they also explain that they are might not American people but if they don’t get the job than who would take that type of job. Moreover, immigrants or poor people health insurance can be very low-cost, so slaughterhouses such as IBP take advantage of it in order to make more money.

Blog Entry 18: CAT#3 Practice

According to the article “Let Them Eat Fat” by Greg Critser stated that fast food companies are increasing so aggressively by targeting of poor inner-city communities. Those inner-city consumers who purchase fast food are mostly young black men. However, because of their poverty they eat cheap meals when they are outside of home. Most awful truth is, those fast food companies offer cheap meals with the idea of supersize meals. But these types of food contains high amount of calories that can be harmful for young kids. As a result, physical activity among teenage boys and girls drops by about half.

                Now a days fast food companies are widely spreading so aggressively by targeting poor inner-city communities. So, the question is who are buying those types of foods? Well, those foods are so cheap and generally in order to save money young people such as young black men are mostly buying these types of foods. However, those foods are not expensive it’s true, but it has high amount of calories which produce fat. Also, these types of foods taste so good and easy to eat. But, it has very dangerous part such as, it can disable physical activity.

                Firstly, the economy is getting down and as a result people can’t effort good expensive food. Because of that, fast food companies are trying to get more money by developing smart idea. They try to convince consumers by offering cheap meals. As a result, consumers buy food from them in order to save their wallet. Those clever food companies such as McDonald’s they developed their business store in lower middle income area so they can attract more customers. They advertise about their cheap meals all over the city. As a result, people convinced to eat more from them. In one sense, it is very good to raise economy in such ways, but on the other hand people are gaining excess weight which can be harmful. In recent survey I have found that physical activity among young teenage boys and girls drops by about half because of the arrivals of such meals.

                Secondly, to be honest I eat fast food and I love it very much. The reason I eat fast foods, its only because it is so tasty and very fast to eat. Also it is cheap to buy. Sometimes it is very hard for me to buy expensive healthy food. Because of eating too much fast food, I have gained extra weight. As a result, I became lazy. I can’t do hard work now. It seems I have lost my physical activity. I used to walk so many times in every morning. But now I can’t even walk more than five minutes. I am feeling so awful now a day. Also, there is another problem that is; I can’t stop eating fast food. Because when I go for work I have to eat something fast such as fast food. But I have realized fast food is bad for health. From now on I will try to eat vegetable as much as I can.

                Finally, according to this awful situation, it is us who can change the world by avoiding unhealthy food. If we see our face in the mirror we can realize how much fat we are gaining everyday because of fast food. Having diet with the touch of good routine can save us from this problem. I think there is nothing wrong with having a healthy life. All we need to do just avoid unhealthy meals.

Blog Entry 17: The Food Unit

According to my point of view based on the food unit it is seems like  “Allegory of the cave”, “The Truman Show” and “The Matrix, Red Pill or Blue Pill” they are trying to show us about control and power. I think now a days, we are totally controled by world. Like the movie “matrix” everything we do and everything we feel are so limited. We don’t have our freedom. On the other hand, like in the reading “Allegory of the Cave” It shows us man being confused by man to only see what they wanted them to see. His mind was being controlled by the guards. It does have a relation with food that we eat by daily basis. I was trying to mean that we eat lots of fat foods just because of food companies are convincing us to eat that. But the quality of the food is very poor. As a result, people like us who eat those kinds of food got fat and lose physical activity. On “The Truman Show” we also can see a relationship between men controlling man. Truman is only allowed to see what he can see and not for what really life is. Even when he figure out that some unusual thing is going on.Also man still gets the upper hand of turning things around and making Truman believe that the world in which he lives in, is the only perfect world he has. Everything is real in here. We have very connective food relationship with trumen. Such as we have a world of food that contains bad caloris which is known as fast food. And it doesn’t matter how many times we try to avoid it but food companies always find a way to get us the consumer more into their products. They gave us more calories but they made food so tasty that, it is very hard to ignore it. Like truemen we only eat food because we are controlled by food companies. Finally “ The Matrix  between the Red pill and the Blue pill”. In our life we are given the same message in a different way. People do try to open our eyes in certain foods and the harms they may present to us. Neo takes the Red Pill and is open to what the world has been hiding to him for so long time. He choose the red pill because he wanted to face the truth and want to save the world. However as we saw the video “meatrix”, the maker of this film used the theme “the matrix” because it is similer with our daily life. We eat good looking food everyday but we don’t see the awful truth which is hiden inside of it. Those fast foods are made with poor quality meats and we eat that almost everyday. The moral of this “meatrix” film is we must open our eyes and we should start ignoring it as much as we can.

 
            In the blog series I have done lots of task such as making summary, writing essay in individual topics, also in the class we watched movies and discussed about it etc. I have done those thing well.But still I needs some improvement about sentence making,correct word choice and grammar. I have faced lots of interesting challenges like commenting on other class students blogs, making group work assignments, and so on. I think I should work on from now about sentence making,correct word choice and grammatical terms. In CAT-W #3 I have responsed mostly based on my life experience. In addition, I agree that working with the idea of blog entry is totally excellent idea.Because in this sector, I can see other’s writing,  how they think and how they connect their thoughts. Also, anyone can leave comments either they like it or not by giving recommendation to improve essay. I really like to work in Google groups because it helps me to develop my skills for any issue. For example, when I give comment on someone else blog, it gives me idea about how to response.

1.Don't eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food:

I have feelings that I can’t do this. Because, I can’t eat something that my great-mother like. Because my grandmother has totally different food taste. It is really hard for me to follow her rottine.

  2.Avoid food products containing ingredients that are unfamiliar, unpronounceable, more than five in number or that include high-fructose corn syrup:   

 I am also agreed with this choice. Because I don’t eat unfamiliar or unpronounceable food. There are two reasons for that. First of all my religion don’t allow me to eat anything. Secondly, my body doesn’t suit all food.

   3.Avoid food products that make health claims:

I think I would love to avoid those food that make health claims. But it is very hard to avoid this kinds of foods. Beacause now a days those kinds of food all over in the market.

   4.Shop in the peripheries of the supermarket and stay out of the middle:

Mostly I do this in the superper market. But when I go with my brother he do the oposite.

   5.Get out of the supermarket whenever possible:

I would love do this whenever possible. May be sometimes it is hard to do it but finding fresh food is better than anything else.

  6.Eat mostly plants, especially leaves:

I agreed with this choice. Eating vegitables is the best choice  rather than eating meats. I do eat vegitables most of the time.

  7.Pay more, eat less:

This is bad idea. Most of the people don’t make good money. Although food is very important, we don't need to spend a lot of our money to buy Expensive food.

  8.Cook, If you can, plant a garden. Eat complete meals, at a table, if possible not alone. Eat slowly.

This is very Important and perfect idea. Plant in a garden, own cultivation and breeding of food is the most reassuring. Eating own income to food is also is a very happy things.

Bottled water is convenient

According to the video bottled water is convenient. But what is more convenient than having nearly free water running from our kitchen tap. We can also have lots of source such as in schools, parks, offices, and sports stadiums etc. However, people love to buy bottle water rather than drinking tap water. Because it is easy to get and little bit tastier than tap water.

To save our environment we can stop drinking bottle water. We can use stainless steel or lined aluminum as sturdiest and safest bottle for drinking. We can refill anytime and drink it. If we don’t stop using bottle water our environment can be destroyed so badly. So  in the future its can be hard to fix. We can use media to raise awareness. It us, who can change our world, by simply taking clean tap water. Also we can save lots of money as well as to save our economy.

Blog 14: Revision of CAT Practice #2

According to the article "Imitation of Film: Here's Smoking at you, kid " by Nicholas Balakar stated that young children are mostly get addicted by smoking because they have seen actors smoke in the movies. However, as we can see because of "R-rated" movies which shows twice as much smoking contain are responsible for influencing kids smoke addiction. According to the reseachers point of view most child who had watch randomly selected box office hits, each child would have been exposed to smoking in a movie. Finally, as we can see report did not preclude the possibility that smoking began before the children saw these movies, but those association who make movie like this, should be taken very seriously in order to change childrens future.

       Now a days, young childrens are highly influenced by movie which contains smoking shots. That may causes smoke addiction. As we know, childrens are so sensative that, they don't know what is good or what is bad for them. But some association who made movies and put smoking scens, can influence childrens life in danger. They don't care about what they want. But we shouldn't forget that one children can change the world.

      Firstly, there are various types of movies we have, but one is called "R-rated" movies which contain twice as much smoking as other films. And the awfull part is kids begins to view those types of movie at very young age. Because of watching those movies they feel interest on smoking little by little. The problem is they think, if movie actors can smoke that means smoking is good. On the other hand, they do smoking very secretly without their parents permission. But they don't know they are destroying their lives gradually. All parents should be aware of what their children's watching. That's the only way of preventing this big issue..

     Secondly, In my childhood, I used to follow what I saw in the movie. To be honest I was so desperate to try smoking at least once. I was so curious to know, how it feels. I was truely influenced by a movie. I was 15 years old at that time. There is a funny part happened with me. I was so stupid that I was start smoking in front of my dad. I thought smoking wasn't bad. First of all, I didn't liked it. And second of all, my dad took that cigarettes from my hand and slapped me! I was shocked! Because I didn't know what was just happened. Then my dad told me how bad smoking really is. After that, I promissed my dad I won't smoke in my whole life. And now I can say proudly that, I am a non-smoker.

     Thirdly, according to the article, as we can see, most children who had watch box office hits movies randomly, each of them mostly have been exposed to smoking. So, there is no need to point out that, those association should be talken very seriously. So we must try to save our children from the harmful affect of smoking. It is us, who can save their life from danger.

     Finally, no matter how much we try to stop those kinds of movie it's no use. Because they are playing huge role in our life that, we can't regret it. But we can stop our children from watching those kinds of movies. Also we can start telling our children about the harmful affect of smoking. We must work together to save our childrens life. Because they are the leaders of future.

 The Meatrix Issues (animal welfare):

It is painful but true, every year  hundreds of thousands of animals lift up for food undergo horible living conditions because the majority of meat, dairy, and poultry production takes place in industrialized or factory farms.

            These factory are huge, and by their point of view, animals are profitable unit of production, rather than they deserve health care and welfare for efficiency and profit. However, those animals spend their life in the factory with the absense of comfort and freedom. They need more space to breath and more healthy food with the touch of proper care. Because of those animal we enjoy our meal, if they don’t get perfect care it can be harmful for us. On the other hand, those animal can be affected by various diseases. And because of we eat meat it can contain disease to us too.

According to The Meatrix website, “In the U.S, dairy cows have been bred to produce higher and higher amounts of milk, and evidence shows this practice has led to a higher occurrence of disease“. Those cows are affected because they are injected by artificial hormons for making more milk. On the other hand  another evidence found by The Meatrix website that is, “Approximately 98% of chickens used in egg production live in a cage of only about 48 sq. in”. So, as we can see because of limited space chickens are suffering a lot and sometimes it also causes various diseases such as “bird flue”.

In conclusion, raising awareness can prevent this terrible situation now a days. Therefore, it is important to know our local farmers about how the animals were raised and if they were slaughtered humanely or not. We can also search out companies and brands that follows strict animal welfare guidelines.We must  work together to save our animals as much as we can.  

 

Blog Entry 12: The Meatrix Summaries

The Meatrix:

According to the 1st part of the video "Meatrix" it talks about how badly animals are living in the firm.However the character leo was living in the dream world and rescued by moopheous. The character Moophious showed him that animal are treated poorly rather than they deserve better. Also because of that it causes many animal disease. Also Moophious gave leo options to choose red pil or blue pil. Red pil take leo to face the truth and blue pill gave leo to stay in the dreamy world.

The Meatrix: Revolting:

According to the 2nd part of the video "The Meatrix: Revolting" it talks about how fast food company destroying the family firms insted of making their artificial firm. However, those food companies giving cheap service to the animals and injecting them artificial hormons to make more money. Because of that animals are suffering various kinds of diseases which can be harmful .

The Meatrix II 1/2 :

According to the 3rd part of the video "The Meatrix II 1/2" it talks about speeding up can make more profit. In the firm those food company forced their employe to work more fast, so they can make more money. But because of that those employee can get hurt. But the food company don't care about their employee safety. They only care about money.

Does Knowledge Makes Us Happier

Not all knowledge makes one happier. Expanding our intelligence, is great though, if it's something we want to learn more about.If someone ask me does knowledge makes me happier or not than I would like to answer that, oviously it makes me happier. However, life is short. In this short time of life we should learn as much as we can. Knowledge is like a ocean. It has no limitation and as much as we get into it, we can learn a lot.           

In the movie "Matrix" as we can see Neo's overall experience is an educational process similar to the release of the prisoner in the “Allegory of the Cave.” Neo lives his life like a prisoner in the matrix. Then he figure out the world he is living its not real. All his life he was controlled by some one. The truth was like awfull tasting medicine but at list he knows what is real. Like Neo, may be one day we need to face awfull truth like his and also it can be so hard to believe. But the question is how strong we are to face that kinds of awfull truth that is actually important.

I have a experience of my life and that is so painful. I have a friend and he is living his life like living in the cave. He stays all the time in his home and never come out. Because of that he don’t see the outer world. He don’t know how beautiful is outside world. The reason he stay in his home all the time is because he lost his mom since he born. He think he is resposible for his mom’s death. Then I have decided, no mater how it cost I have to help my friend. Then I have told him about real world. How it looks and how much lucky we are that we are living in this world. We are here because we must earn knowledge as much as we can. After three years of nonstop trying, finally he decided to come out from his world to my world. It was a greatest achievment of my life that I cant forget.

           

In conclusion, the benefit of learning has no limitation. As much as we learn that much as we can get joy. To be honest I love learning new things. And I really want to know everything around me. Also I don’t want to live my life in the cave. I hate darkness and I think no one can stop me from getting knowledge that I deserve to be learned.

                             The Dangers Of Reality TV


According to the article "The Dangers Of Reality TV" its stated that in general life reality television spreading illogical informations that are harmful for young fans. However, reality television still following the ancient thoughts, that is, competition is the only way of success in a capitalist economy. Also, reality television sends the message that image is more important rather than ability. On the other hand, it is also telling us that, education is completely unnecessary to fulfill the American dreams. Finally, reality tv shows aren't replicating the society but also it is showing the whole world wrong messages.

      Now a days reality television plays harmful role in our general life. It is also spreading several valueless messages that are destroying the minds of its young fans. However, it is sends out the harmful information which is related to the importance of competition, the value of image over ability, the absolescence of education and so on. it is believed by creators of reality television that, competition is the only key to success in capitalist economy.But the creators of the reality tv don't care about the young generation rather than fulfilling their own needs.

     Firstly, reality tv show is the only show that encourage the idea that, life is nothing but a competition. However, many business truly depends on competition. There is no such bussiness in America that doesn't want to become monopoly serving the needs of consumers. Because of that almost every industry in the United States losing economy due to mergers and acquisitions.

    Secondly, reality television also shows that it is the only way to get success rather than ability. In reality show most contestant who is  also qualified often  loses to another who presents a better image. For example, singer of any singing reality  shows who has a better voice but less attractive looks than other singer can't survive further. So, as we can see image is more important than substance.

    Thirdly, the most dangerous message of the reality show is they belief, education is less important or completely unnecessary in order to fulfill the American dreams.They also believes, people who graduates from college can't make more money rather than chosing reality shows. There is no benefit in going to the  school and face the difficulties of learning when there is  a better option to get on reality shows such as fear factor, eating bugs and walk away with a bucket of money. But truth is these  is the path of getting money only, not the path of learning true education.

    Finally, reality shows can shows us a package of entertainment. It can't gives us true education. Also, it is not the procedure of repliciting society. It is the procedure of destroying young generation. We should be more aware of not getting fooled by them.

               The Perfect World Of Truman

 

According to the movie Cristoff made his own world known as "perfect world" which is created for reality show. As he think in his perfect world Truman can live  happily ever after. But it makes Truman's life disaster. If we compare Seahaven to our real world in tearms of family life, neighborhood life, work life and leisure time there is huge difference came up. Our real world has no limitation and it is also way more beautiful rather than Cristoff world.

For me I always  wanted that perfect life, such as the houses all looking the same and white fences.But after watching the movie I felt real word is better than Truman’s perfect world. I would  love to have the normal life which is full of big building, the subway, the busy life of the city e.t.c  that’s my world.  However, I felt awfull when I saw Truman’s life, he is waking everyday, doing the same thing, greeting the neighbors the same way in every morning. Hence in real world most of the times I don’t even see my neighbors.

It’s about more than two years I am living in newyork city. I saw my brother who is living here happily more than nine years and he has a daughter . NewYork it’s a good place to raise a child as my brother did to his daughter  and she is turning into a fine young lady. We enjoyed the parks, the food, and so many different types of culture as well. As we can see its not possible at all like the vision of Truman’s world.

           Finally, if a question asked to me which world do you prefer to stay I would choose to stay in my reality my real world, because Christofis world is just too fake for me.

        "The Allegory of the Cave "and  The Truman Show

 “The Truman Show” all Truman did revolved around the media. Such as drinking coffee would end up turning into an advertisement for coffee, Truman speaking to a couple of clients by buy a home signs and advertisements for food. However to survive relying on the media, we all do things like Truman.

      After analyzing the class readings and watching The Truman Show , I think now a days we all moves in circular motion around the media. Its because we highly addicted to media in many ways. As we can see in the movie

      Now question comes How much does our reality depend on the media and what purpose behind it? Well I think I do depend on the media. Media do a huge role in my general life. It changed my life a lot. If it wasn’t exist I wouldn’t be where I am today. For example we do various kinds of job in our day to day life. Media helps our life easier without it our job wouldn’t be as advanced as they are today. With no advertisements where would we all be today? We wouldn’t really know everything we know now. How would we know about many jobs if there is no one to speak about it? Most of the Companies use radio, TV or spokesmen to tell us the people about their job openings and careers. So its important to have media in our general life.

      If we look at our study life there is huge source of advertisement I believe would be schools. For example almost every college use tv commercial to advertise their open college enrollment meetings for new and upcoming students. They advertise their strengths over TV and the radio to get us to choose them rather than some other school. . If it wasn’t for the media there is no way to know about all these different schools and great programs and opportunities they offer us.

      IT is true that media is making our life easier but also it can make our life disaster too. We must be weary of fake advertisements. Many advertisements offer you us wrong thing and I can be harmful. In their advertisement they talks about so good news you want to know about the company and they hide problematic stuffs. Or they tell us once we have purchased the product. Lots of people use internet to make up fake advertisements to get us purchases their fake item. Sometimes they link to us a virus. So as we can see everything has good side and bad side. Because of that we should be aware of using things before really going into it. We must have the ability to face the fact that we are a growing population. Also this source of media can get us through our daily life. And we must learn not to take advantage of these sources. We should let it help us understand more of good things that we may go on or deny.

                                        Reflection on Writing


            Firstly, after starting my study at laguardia college, I have learned lot of valuable tricks to improve  my writing skills, as well as reading too. I have learned some of the skills such as annotating, summarizing, thesis-based writing and paragraphing. To be honest one of the best skill to understand and summarize a passage or article is annotating. However I have to read an article again and again but it will help me to underline important ideas that it might be helpful on my summarize.Also making circle in unknown words, to look for those words later on, so I could understand better what the writer is trying to indicate me.

Secondly,with the help of annotating I have learned how to summarize any article. Summarizing is the second skill that I have learned  in this class. Now I can point the main ideas of the reading, such as information of the story and author point of view. So making good summary with the help of annotation that make me feel more clear about any article.

Thirdly, thesis-Base writing skill is based on the Introduction and the thesis statement. As we know  this will help me to write an clean and well organized essay based on an article. The thesis-statement is an outline from the starting to end, an outline that I must start by a indivisual topic, and a list of reasons.So, I could start doing paragraphing according to it. Paragraphing is one of the skill that I am learning to improve in my writing. It is the prof of the most important idea, reasons to support all claim as well as idea, unity and logical connection at the same time.

Finally, I can say I am not best at essay but I am improving myself so far that I can be better. I have one strong prove, that is , in blog entry number six I believe I have wrote well eassy compare to others. However, it is clear that by applying these skills I could make a well and organize essay. On the other hand, one  thing that is difficult to me that is, when I start summarising to make first sentence of any story, I feel confuse that what should I writte. Beside that as long as I start writing I think I am good to write.  So far I am feel  strong on passing the CATW. From now I am trying to practice and focus more in the class so I could earn my more confidence to start writing without fear.
